An arc is a sequence of sessions with the same character. Each session is an episode — it adds to the thread, carries the mood forward, and gives the character more context to draw from.
Mood shifts are the arc's turning points. You set the mood before each episode: playful, intense, tender. Change it and the character recalibrates from her personality sheet. The shift is remembered — it becomes part of the arc's history.
The character sheet is what makes arcs feel real. Each of the 250+ companions has a personality archetype, playstyle tags, and a backstory. As the arc builds, she draws on that sheet more deeply — references surface unprompted, arguments carry weight, silence means something.
